Pilgrim’s Notice of Certification
Under the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks
Pilgrim Quality Solutions, an IQVIA Inc. company (Pilgrim) has certified certain of our services, for which we act as a data processor, under the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield frameworks.
Scope: Pilgrim adheres to the principles of the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield frameworks with respect to personal data submitted by Pilgrim’s customers in reliance on the Privacy Shield to the following online services: SmartSolve® and related products.
Data processed: Pilgrim provides an online Enterprise Quality Management platform that our customers use to aid in their achievement of quality compliance for their businesses. This includes solutions and tools for corrective actions, preventive actions, management of deviations and nonconformances, change control, customer complaints and adverse event reporting, document control and employee training. Additionally, these tools include solutions for the management of audits, incoming material inspections and out of specification results. Finally, the platform provides tools for building ancillary online quality applications as well. In providing these tools, Pilgrim processes data our customers submit to our services or instruct us to process on their behalves. While Pilgrim’s customers decide what data to submit, it typically includes information about their customers, suppliers, products, processes, and its related regulatory and compliance data.
Purposes of data processing: Pilgrim processes data submitted by customers for the purpose of providing Pilgrim’s online services to our customers. To fulfill these purposes, Pilgrim may access the data to provide the services, to correct and address technical or service problems, to follow instructions of the Pilgrim customer who submitted the data, or in response to contractual requirements.
Third parties who may receive personal data: Pilgrim uses a limited number of third-party service providers to assist us in providing our services to customers. These third party providers offer customer support to our customers, perform database monitoring and other technical operations, assist with the transmission of data, and provide data storage services. These third parties may access, process, or store personal data in the course of providing their services. Pilgrim maintains contracts with these third parties restricting their access, use, and disclosure of personal data in compliance with our Privacy Shield obligations; Pilgrim may be liable if they fail to meet those obligations and we are responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.
Your rights to access, to limit use, and to limit disclosure: Individuals have rights to access personal data about them, and to limit use and disclosure of their personal data. With our Privacy Shield certification, Pilgrim has committed to respect those rights. Because Pilgrim personnel have limited ability to access data our customers submit to our services, if you wish to request access, to limit use, or to limit disclosure, please provide the name of the Pilgrim customer who submitted your data to our services. We will refer your request to that customer, and will support them as needed in responding to your request.
U.S. Federal Trade Commission enforcement: Pilgrim’s commitments under the Privacy Shield are subject to the investigatory and enforcement powers of the United States Federal Trade Commission.
Compelled disclosure: Pilgrim may be required to disclose personal information in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.
